What Would We See If We Could See Carbon?

Although carbon emissions are invisible, they are generated through the use of energy, fuel, and resources at every stage of agricultural production. Processes ranging from machinery used in the field and irrigation systems to product processing and transportation constitute the unseen environmental footprint of production. However, agriculture is not merely a sector that generates emissions; it is also a strategic sector in which carbon can be sequestered in the soil and reintegrated into the natural cycle through appropriate practices.

The CarboDigIPARD Project aims to improve understanding of the carbon footprint associated with IPARD investments and raise awareness of ways to reduce it. Through digital tools, training activities, and scientific studies, the project supports producers in managing resources more efficiently while promoting a sustainable, competitive, and climate-friendly approach to rural development. Although we cannot see carbon directly, we can see the resulting improvements in efficiency, cost savings, and the healthier environment we leave to future generations.
